Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told Reuters that Russian gas supplies through the Yamal-Europe pipeline through the Malnow compressor station on the German-Polish border had fallen to zero on March 29. According to him, this situation is normal, as the figures change every day.

“They fell and fell. This is normal. This is due to the loading of the gas pipeline, the volume of transportation on the “Yamal-Europe” fluctuates every day. It’s zero, it’s not zero. I don’t understand why it matters, ”Kupriyanov told NEWS.ru.

A day earlier, Reuters reported, citing Gascade, that physical gas flows through the Yamal-Europe pipeline through Germany’s Malnow compressor station had been reduced to zero the day before. According to the media, by 13:00 local time, the pumping was 1,451,155 kilowatt-hours, but after that the figures fell to zero.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has previously said that countries recognized by Russia as unfriendly (especially Europe and the United States) will be required to pay for gas in rubles. This decision of the head of state, according to a poll by VTsIOM, was approved by 76% of Russians. After that, several European countries stated that they do not consider such an option to purchase energy. Later, Vice Chancellor, Minister of Economy and Climate Change of Germany Robert Habek said that the G7 countries – Britain, Germany, Canada, Italy, USA, France and Japan – will not buy Russian gas for rubles.
