Russia is working on creating an analogue of the Android app store Google Play, which is scheduled to launch on May 9. The new platform will be called NashStore, according to the project director of ANO “Digital Platforms” Vladimir Zykov.

“Unfortunately, Russians can no longer use Google Play properly to buy and pay for applications, and developers have lost their source of income. This is a fact that we have encountered today. That’s why we created the Russian NashStore application store. This is an Android app store. From it, users will be able to download, install, update applications and pay for subscriptions, “- told RIA Novosti Zykov.

Anyone can apply for the inclusion of their software in NashStore through the official website NashStore.ru. The team is working on various payment methods for applications that will be compatible with Russian Mir cards.

On March 10, Google Play was restricted in Russia. Currently, only free applications are available for Russians to download. On March 6, Netflix suspended operations in Russia. The company also warned about the cancellation of Russian accounts at the end of the billing period, reports TV channel 360. Together with him, the Swedish company IKEA announced the suspension of work in Russia. Earlier, sales in Russia were suspended by the H&M Group retail chain, one of the world’s largest sellers of clothing, footwear and accessories.
