In the list of top scorers, Kaprizov continues to be the best of the Russians, overtaking both Alexander Ovechkin (78 points) and Artemy Panarin (77). Kirill has 82 (37 + 45) points for 64 games. Another point will allow the Russian to set a club record.
Eugene Malkin broke the record for assists among Russians in the NHL. The Pittsburgh Penguins striker gave his 697th assist in the match against the New York Rangers (2: 3) and surpassed Sergei Fedorov’s achievement. At the same time, Eugene spent 277 games less than his compatriot. Third in the ranking – Ovechkin (626 programs).
Malkin’s record did not allow Pittsburgh to win – the victory was celebrated by another Russian. Panarin scored points in the fourth game in a row. One of the striker’s two assists found the stick of Chris Crider, who brought the Rangers victory. Panarin remains the best assistant of the NHL season among the Russians – in the ranking he is fourth, giving 60 assists in 62 games.
Nikita Kucherov scored 3+ points for the third time this season. The Tampa Bay Lightning striker made three assists in the winning game against Carolina Hurricanes (4-3 in overtime). Due to the October injury, Kucherov played only in the 31st match of the season, but has already scored 38 points. Tampa is fourth in the Eastern Conference.
Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets strikers Valery Nichushkin and Vladislav Gavrikov took doubles. Nichushkin twice won the majority in the match with the second team of the Western Conference “Calgary Flames” (2: 1) and was recognized as the best player of the meeting. Avalanche became the first team to reach 100 points this season.
Gavrikov’s double was not so useful – the Jackets lost to the New York Islanders (3: 4), and Vladislav was recognized as the second star of the game. Semyon Varlamov, who reflected 42 of Columbus’ 45 shots, prevented the striker from becoming the best player of the match. The Russian was recognized as the third star of the match.
Nashville Predators striker Jacob Trenin gave up his seventh assist of the season and set a personal best – only six assists in the last regular season. Trenin’s effective score helped Nashville beat the Ottawa Senators Eastern Conference outsider (4-1).
