  • One of the first to report possible difficulties with the timing of the release of “Wild Hunt” for platforms of the current generation was the portal iXBT.games. An anonymous insider of the GameMAG.ru editorial office also later stated the situation.
  • According to the publications, amid the conflict in Ukraine, CD Projekt has stopped cooperating with the St. Petersburg office of Saber Interactive, whose staff was engaged in republishing “The Witcher 3”.
  • CDP has allegedly demanded that Saber hand over all the work to them, and plans to look for another partner to complete production.
  • The release of updated versions of “The Witcher” for PCs and consoles of the current generation is currently scheduled for the second quarter of 2022 (April-June). After all, the break with Saber means another delay, but for how long – it is unclear.
  • There is no confirmation of this information at this time. DTF asked Saber Interactive for comment, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.

The Witcher 3 will be updated for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, announced in September 2020 and planned to be released in 2021. However, later improved versions of the game were postponed “to do everything right.”

This is not the first time that the developers of “The Witcher” have collaborated with Saber – the same St. Petersburg division of the company used to deal with the “Wild Hunt” port for Nintendo Switch. They are currently working on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which was announced at The Game Awards 2021.

Although Saber Interactive was founded in 2001 by Russian developers, it is headquartered in the United States and is part of the Swedish holding company Embracer Group, along with THQ Nordic, Koch Media and other publishers and studios.

On March 3, amid the conflict in Ukraine, CD Projekt suspended the sale of its games in Russia, as well as the operation of the digital store GOG. However, according to CDPR representatives at the end of the month, they will continue to provide technical support to users from Russia.
