Brazilian defender of “Spartak” Lucas Ayrton will continue his career in the homeland as part of “Flamengo”. According to the Moscow club, the footballer has been leased until the end of the year, but the agreement provides for the mandatory right to repurchase the transfer under certain conditions. There is no information about the financial details of the deal.
Another legionnaire defender is leaving Spartak. And if the Frenchman Samuel Gigo, sold to “Marseille” in the winter transfer window, continues to play for the red and whites on lease, the Brazilian Ayrton has already changed his residence. He became a player of one of the most titled and popular Brazilian clubs – “Flamengo”. Until December 31, 2022, the 24-year-old footballer will be on loan, and then, apparently, will sign a full-fledged contract.
According to official data, Ayrton’s agreement provides for the mandatory right of redemption of the transfer under certain conditions. It is not specified what the conditions are. As nothing is reported about the financial side of Ayrton’s transition. The Red and Whites only stated in their press release that the deal with Flamengo fully takes into account the interests of Spartak. Theoretically, it seems that the defender can still return from the lease, but the Moscow club has made it clear that he is no longer expected.
“We wish Ayrton to recover as soon as possible from the injury he suffered in the recent meeting with Nizhny Novgorod, and to prove himself successfully in Flamengo” – so Spartak said goodbye to the player who closed the left flank and played for them for three seasons.
It will be recalled that Ayrton came to Spartak from Fluminense (by the way, Flamengo’s most important rival) in December 2018 and played a total of 108 matches. The Red and Whites paid € 7 million for it, while its maximum value, according to the Transfermarkt portal, rose only to € 6 million at the end of 2020, and is now estimated at € 4.5 million.
It is worth noting that two months ago the Brazilian extended his contract with Spartak until June 2026. As the new sports director of Muscovites Luca Cattani said in an interview on the club’s website, for him this was “one of the most important issues.” The Italian called Ayrton “a very valuable player, one of those who form the backbone of the team and is visible on the field in every match.” Moreover, Cattani stressed that he is not going to release the defender in any case, despite the fact that he is interesting to many clubs and is highly valued in the football market. “Ayrton will definitely stay with us and be part of the team on the way to achieving great goals,” said the sports director of Spartak.
However, at that time Cattani did not yet imagine how drastically everything would change after the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine and the subsequent removal of Russia from all international football competitions. Legionnaires playing for Russian clubs were allowed to suspend their contracts unilaterally at least until the end of this season, and in fact, to terminate them without much consequence. However, these players have the opportunity to move to other teams regardless of the official transfer periods. And many of them have already used this option.
