On April 1, the International Committee of the Red Cross failed to help civilians leave Mariupol due to the precarious situation in the area. This was reported by the press service of the organization.

“Group of the International Committee of the Red Cross […] was forced to return to Zaporozhye after conditions and conditions made further progress impossible. The ICRC team, consisting of three cars and nine people, did not reach Mariupol today and did not promote the safe passage of civilians, ”the statement said.

According to the head of the National Defense Department of Russia, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, the ICRC representatives have previously spoken about their commitment to humanitarian principles and the importance of saving Mariupol residents. When it came time for real help, they could not do anything, Mizintsev said.

It turned out that 10 buses of the humanitarian convoy left for Mariupol with a time lag. ICRC representatives accompanied the convoys from time to time in an unknown direction. Then they returned, but such trips took a long time. As a result, by the end of the day the column reached only Berdyansk.

At the same time, Russia has evacuated almost 119,000 civilians in Mariupol since the beginning of a special operation in Ukraine, FAN reports. On April 1, 3,046 people left the city. In general, the special operation of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. The key goal of the Russian military is to demilitarize the Kiev regime. Russia’s Defense Ministry has presented documents confirming that Kyiv was preparing for a violent action against Donbass.
