Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergei Andreev admitted the possibility of closing the Russian embassy in Poland. At the same time, he said that the severance of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Warsaw is unlikely to happen.

“It simply came to our notice then. Maybe we will be forced to close the embassy here for a while, of course, in which case the Poles will have to close their embassy in Moscow, “Andreev said on the Soloviev Live program. The ambassador also stressed that the Russian diplomatic mission works “in peaceful conditions.”

Russia has previously launched a special operation to demilitarize and denationalize Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the decision forced and noted that the purpose of the special operation is to protect the people of Donbass from years of genocide. Poland has condemned Russia’s actions, and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has called for a NATO humanitarian mission to be sent to Ukraine, the National News Service reports. Poland also called for a trade blockade of Russia and the sending of NATO troops to the special operations zone.
