The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon. He is charged with three counts.
“Gordon is accused of publicly calling for a war, inciting hatred on the basis of nationality and spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces. In his actions there are signs of crimes under Part 2 of Article. 354, item “b” part 2 of Art. 282, item “a”, part 2 of Art. 207.3 of the Criminal Code, “RIA Novosti reported.

Russia has previously launched a forced special operation to demilitarize and denationalize Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that this was the culmination of a course that the West had pursued since the early 1990s after it became clear that Russia would not be obedient to the United States. Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the main goal of the special operation is to protect the population of Donbass from years of genocide. The President noted that the occupation of Ukraine is not Russia’s goal.
