The US Department of Commerce has expanded sanctions against 120 companies from Russia and Belarus in connection with the events in Ukraine. This is stated in a published document of the department, which is published on the website of the Federal Register.
“In response to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Ministry of Trade 120 adds 120 legal entities to the (sanctions) list. According to the definition of the US government, the actions of these organizations are contrary to the interests of national security or foreign policy of the country “, – follows from the document, RIA Novosti reported. The document itself will be published on April 7 on the website of the Ministry of Trade.
The new sanctions list includes the Zhukovsky Aerodynamic Institute, Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation, Svyaz, Salyut, Mars Research Association, Soyuz Federal Center for Dual Technologies, Energia JSC, and Novosibirsk. Plant “Electrosignal”, Tambov plant “October”, JSC “Uralement” and others. According to White House Director of Communications Kate Bidengfield, companies will no longer be able to obtain advanced US technology without a license, which they will be denied in most, if not all, cases.
EU countries, as well as the United States, Canada, Japan and a number of other countries, have imposed tough sanctions against Russia over Russia’s special operation in Ukraine. According to the Russian authorities, all previous sanctions have had a negative effect on Western countries as well: payment and logistics systems have been disrupted, inflation is rising, and cooperation ties have been broken. Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov called on the American authorities to stop “waving the sanctions baton that strikes at the United States and its allies.”
